Meet Our Woman of the Week | Bailey Sullivan
Bailey Sullivan
Hometown: Tampa, FL
Major: Industrial and Systems Engineering
"When I think about Chi O, three words come to mind: fun, friendship, and authenticity. It is a community of women who constantly encourage me to be the best that I can be. It has given me life-long friendships and the sense of belonging that I wanted for my college experience. Chi O is real. The love and support that is shared within this chapter is genuine and that is exciting! I am thankful for the fun memories and friendships I have made through Chi O and the opportunity to be a part of a chapter that I love so much."

About Bailey (submitted by Lindsey):
Man oh man, talk about a gal you meet and never want to let go. Bailey is a woman who is wise beyond her years and leaves a glow everywhere she goes. I had the joy of meeting Bailey this past year and am so thrilled I did. Bailey has dreams and aspirations that make me want to be a better person. She inspires me daily and I know everyone who meets her would say the same. Bailey currently serves on Exec for Auburn University Dance Marathon and on Cardinal Cabinet with Chi Omega...and it is just her first year at Auburn! Bailey--you slay at anything and everything you do and I could not be more proud to call you a friend. Keep killin' the game. Keep dreamin' big. I cannot wait to watch where life takes you!
In what ways has Chi Omega impacted you?
Chi O has challenged me to grow socially, academically, and spiritually. It has brought me a wonderful group of friends who celebrate the fun times and encourage me during the hard ones. I love the diversity within the chapter and having the opportunity to learn about everyone's unique passion and gifts. The support of these girls have blown me away; there is always someone willing to help or to offer advice when you need it. They have challenged me to serve, step outside my comfort zone, and grow deeper in my faith. As an out-of-state student, Chi Omega gave me a new sense of "home" and has been a highlight of my college experience thus far.
What is something not many people know about you?
Many people don't know that I wanted to be an astronaut when I was younger! I was very passionate about this dream--I had my own monogrammed space suit, read every book on astronauts that I could find and begged my parents to take me on a tour of the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. I was determined to be the first woman on the moon and thought of Neil Armstrong as my hero. (Slightly nerdy I know!) I have since changed my life plans, but who knows...if Nasa needs an extra astronaut, I wouldn't turn down the offer!
What made you choose your major?
I am so excited about my major! I have always loved math, science, and any subject that involved analysis or problem solving. When I read the description for industrial engineering, it matched all of my interests and seemed like a great fit. I am also interested in business and hope to apply my degree in an engineering capacity within the financial services industry. I would love to use the things I am learning to work on Wall Street one day!
What is your favorite time of the year?
My favorite time of year is late November around Thanksgiving! I love watching the leaves change and spending time with my family over break. On Thanksgiving morning, my family always does a race called Run-4-Pies where they give apple pies to the finishers. It has become one of my favorite traditions and something I look forward to every year!
