"Chi O is a group of women who make you realize what genuine, true friendships are. You are loved sincerely and constantly for who you are, yet are encouraged and challenged to be the best version of yourself. There is no other group of women I could imagine growing, learning, and having an incredible amount of fun with."

About Shelby (submitted by Cailyn):
Shelby and I first met freshman year after a swap; she grabbed my phone and put her number in without me even asking! Since then, she has become one of my best friends. She loves school, reading, working out, eating sweets, and cooking pancakes for her friends. She is the President of Student Recruiters so she loves showing future students how proud she is of Auburn's campus. She is super involved, but she always makes time for everyone in her life. She loves taking care of people around her and she loves it when you call her "Big Mama." She has such an amazing work ethic in everything she does, especially in school. We have the same major so she helps me out all the time! She has such a love for Jesus. You can tell by her integrity, grace, and in the way she holds herself to a higher standard. She is always herself--no matter who she is around. She will always tell you the truth and she faces every challenge head on. She is so fun and is always ready for a movie night. She is a one-of-a-kind friend and she loves people exactly as they are.
What day of recruitment do you like the best?
My absolute favorite day of recruitment is bid day! It is the day that everyone looks forward to all year and when we finally get to welcome a new group of freshman into Chi O! Meeting girls throughout recruitment and getting to know them makes bid day, the day they finally run through our doors, the most exciting and fun by far!
If you had five words to describe yourself, what would they be?
Dedicated, excitable, compassionate, personable, and goofy!
What are you most looking forward to about this year?
Something that I have experienced in my last two years of college is the way that each year helps you to grow and learn in different ways. Meeting new people who have a different background, personality, or values really helps shape who you are. This has been mostly true in my relationships with girls in Chi O. My friendships have helped me grow in my faith and helped me to get out of my comfort zone on many different occasions. New people and circumstances that come into your life each year help you to see God's ultimate plan and that is something that I will never stop looking forward to!
What is the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to you?
I embarrass myself just about every day it seems, but one particular instance was at the Rec my freshman year. Like almost all of us, the "Freshman 15" hit me hard and so I decided to go work out. I was doing box jumps in a corner by the track, stumbled coming down, and landed hard on the ground. I t was one of those busy hours at the Rec too so at least 10 or 15 people saw it happen. I don't think I wen't back for a couple of weeks...
