Meet Our Woman of the Week | Caroline Ousley

Caroline Ousley
Hometown: Birmingham, AL
Major: Pre-Communication Disorders
"I was drawn to Chi O because it is a place where everyone loves deeply, encourages well and celebrates BIG--I am oh so blessed to be a part of something SO much bigger than myself. Chi O is a place that is rooted on the firm foundation of Christ's love, allowing me to be all He created me to be."

About Caroline (submitted by Maggie Beans):
It's almost hard to write about Caroline Ousley because I feel like no words can ever do her justice. Cousley pursues and invests in friendships like no other. She is not one to have many friends just for the sake of popularity or networking. Caroline genuinely gets to know people--a ton of people--and remembers every little thing about them! She is constantly encouraging me in everything I do and always lets me know in little ways that she cares, even when I think nobody else does. She is so thoughtful, bold, bright, confident, headstrong, incessantly positive and selfless. Caroline may be two years younger than me, but she is someone that I look up to and strive to be. If everyone could feel the love and happiness that Cousley radiates, the world would be a much better place!
Who is your role model and why?
Man oh man, this is a hard one to choose. First, my parents are my role models. They have shown me how to love well, taught me the important things in life and help me in more ways than I can begin to count. Another big role model in my life is my mentor. She is the ultimate example of a Proverbs 31 woman and constantly encourages me in all I do. Not to mention, she was a Chi Omega at Mississippi State...hootie hoot!
What is your biggest fear?
My biggest fear would definitely be snakes or honestly anything slimy! I am TERRIFIED. Once I went on a running trail and saw a snake, and low-key didn't go back to the same trail for half of a year. I think I may have had some form of PTSD after that encounter.
What is the best part of Chi O so far?
The best part of Chi O so far would be all of the sweet new friendships I have made. I have prayed and prayed for years for solid and genuine friends like the ones I have found in Chi O. I am so blessed and super thankful to get to walk through each day with so many wonderful people that constantly encourage me and point me to the cross. The Lord has already used these friendships to deeply bless me and it is only the second month of college. I know that what He has in store for the next four years in Chi O is even greater and for that I am SO thankful.
What is your favorite movie?
My favorite movie is hands down "Mamma Mia." I mean, can we talk about how awesome the album is?! I love me a good musical. Maybe it's because I can't sing well and I wish I could? I am not sure, but "Mamma Mia" is the BEST. Plus, it's filmed in Greece a.k.a. the most beautiful place ever.
