Peyton Hurbanis
Hometown: Orlando, FL
Major: Nursing

"Chi O is a place I call home with people I love so dearly who love me so well! Chi O has give me such a comfort since the first day of freshmen year and continues to give me that comfort today. It has surrounded me with such encouraging and uplifting friends who accept me for who I am, challenge me in my faith and are constantly there by my side, and I am forever grateful for that!"

About Peyton (submitted my Mary Grace):
Peyton was one of the first people I met in Auburn and I have been so blessed by such a sweet friendship. From traveling around in our little Pi Chi group, to choosing Chi Omega, to sharing the same incredible big sister and now roommates--this could be called fate, but I say it is God's sweetest blessing. Peyton is very intentional with her relationships. She keeps in touch with everyone she knows, as well as tries to meet new people. Peyton is also heavily involved with the organization Best Buddies. Above all, she is incredibly faithful in her journey with the Lord. Thank you for all that you bring into my life, including good smelling candles. I love you, twin!

What is one thing not many people know about you?
Something many people probably don't know about me is that my family lineage is Czechoslovakian! I have family members that still live in Slovakia. My immediate family and I had the amazing opportunity to go visit them a few summers ago. It was the best trip I've ever been on! It was so much fun exploring the country and meeting people we are related to even though we live so far apart!

What is your favorite thing about Auburn?
What is there not to love about Auburn! This school has such a special place in my heart and I am so thankful for all of the fun memories I've made here! My favorite thing about Auburn is definitely the fun tradition of rolling the trees at Toomer's after a victorious football game!

Why did you choose your major?
I decided to go into nursing because I have grown up wanting to work in the medical field and have always had a heart to help others! Nursing is the perfect opportunity to serve others and provide for their medical needs. I had the privilege of volunteering at ORMC Hospital in Orlando this summer where I learned a lot about myself and how I will be able to impact others as a nurse. My time there really encouraged me and inspired me. I am so excited to learn and grow through nursing school, and I can't wait to experience the joy of serving others through this field!

If you had to describe yourself in five words, what would they be?
I would describe myself as friendly, joyful, follower of Jesus, tender-hearted and easy-going!
