Meet Our Woman of the Week | Harper Morrison
Harper Morrison
Hometown: Fairhope, AL
Major: Nursing
“When I thought about joining a sorority, I wanted to find a group that would mold me into a better version of myself rather than a version of everyone else. Chi Omega has allowed me to build on my own personality traits and has embraced who I am as a person. There is no stereotypical Chi O; we don’t have any cookie cutters. We are all who we are and come together as one unique sisterhood.”

About Harper (submitted by Nicole Finley):
Harper Morrison is a friend I hope to keep around forever. I remember the first time I met her, I about passed out from intimidation. I mean, the girl is fierce. Aside from sharing her closet, the thing I love most about Harper is that she is exactly who she is no matter where she goes. And who she is makes every moment with her an adventure. I didn’t know the extent of my “weird side” until I met Harper, and that is because her confidence and consistency in her identity challenged and encouraged me to be rooted in exactly who I am. Harper gal, thanks for loving me and supporting me through all of my oddities and for never being afraid to show yours as well. Chi Omega is a “come as you are” group of girls because of who you are!
What has been your favorite memory in Chi Omega so far?
Definitely winning the new member retreat rap competition! It was my official debut in chi-o as a major dork. My group placed top three in the first round and then performed it again to claim the title of first place! I was able to meet a lot of people through that experience and by watching the other group’s performances, I was able to see the many different personalities that make my pledge class so unique!
What is the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to you?
This was hard to think of, but one stood out in particular. I was in Chewacla State Park modeling beautiful wedding clothes with a full team of make-up artists, stylists, and photographers. All of them were watching me as well as about 50 other people who were enjoying a nice day in the park when I slipped on a rock near the waterfall I was posing by causing me to fall into the water completely ruining what I was wearing. It was so awkward because literally EVERYONE saw!
If you could live anywhere in the world where would you live and why?
If I could move anywhere in the world, it would have to be Annapolis, Maryland. I know it’s totally random, but it is the prettiest place I’ve ever been. It’s a quaint town, but home to the Naval Academy (yes please, those boys are on fire) and is also extremely close to big cities like Washington D.C. and Baltimore. It’s right on a harbor so you can watch beautiful sail boats and yachts stroll through all day long.
What was the most rewarding part about going on a mission trip to Ecuador?
I went on the mission trip expected to be helping others, but I soon realized that I was the one who benefited the most from the trip. It was a humbling experience and made me appreciate everything that I have here in the United States. It was also amazing practice for nursing because I was able to learn how to draw blood and take people's blood pressure.
