Meet Our Woman of the Week | Ansley Harris

"Chi Omega to me means community. This is a word that is often over used but it is the first word that comes to mind when I think of Chi Omega. Coming into college, every girl searches for a group that makes them feel known and that is exactly what Chi O has been for me. A place to be poured into by older girls, a place to and like-minded friends, and a place to pour back out and love on younger girls"
-Ansley Harris

About Ansley (Nominated by Turner Spottswood):
"Ansley Harris is a gal who actively positions herself toward the presence of the Lord which allows her to respond in wisdom, obedience and worship in every relationship and circumstance. It is truly an honor getting to have a seat in Ansley’s life. Ansley reminds me of a kitchen farm table. She is always there and has been apart of the family for forever, constant like Jesus. She is always willing for more chairs to be pulled up to her table, unwavering like Jesus. She is someone you can sit with and say nothing at all, but still be heard. She is the place where everyone loves to gather and the involuntary center of attention because people are just drawn to the joy she exudes. I am eager to continue to learn from Ansley. She’s one of the sweetest souls to look up to."

1. If you could inherit one trait from each of your parents what would you want to inherit from each of them?
My mom is superwoman. There are so many things about her that I love and wish I had more of, but her ability to comfort others and know exactly what they need, when they need it is amazing. She has a way of identifying the kind of person you are and your needs and will make sure you feel known, cared for, loved and understood… and leave having had a good laugh.

My dad on the other hand has this ability to relate to any and everyone no matter the age. He embodies this confident humility that people are drawn to and he will drop anything and everything to make sure the needs of others are met. He is incredible and if I can inherit half of those traits I’ll be doing something right.

2. Now that it's officially February (a.k.a the month of love) what is your favorite way to make the people in your life know how much you love them?
Ah so fun!! I personally feel so loved when I feel heard, the little things are remembered, and I feel like a priority to those closest to me…. so I try and do the same with the people in my life. Whether that’s doing something with a friend that I know she loves to do, just some good ole quality time, or a simple note reminding them that I love em! I’m a sucker for a good note!

3. What is a way that you relax and rest your mind after a long day of classes?
Laughter. There’s nothing like a good laugh with your people, especially after a long day.

4. We know you helped start Delight Ministries here on Auburn's campus, what has been your favorite event or night that you've gotten to plan or be apart of?
Oh man, I have loved every part of it!! One of my favorite nights though was probably Delight Friendsgiving. A lot of the girls that had participated in Delight that semester came over and we got to share a fun meal, talk about the highlights of the semester, and just enjoy the company of friends! We have Kick-off for the semester this Thursday (February 2nd) and would love for anyone and everyone to join us!
