This is Hayley Patterson and I am so honored to have the opportunity to be the Philanthropy Chair for Chi Omega this year.
Make-A-Wish believes that wishes make life better for kids with life-threatening medical conditions. This simple, but powerful belief inspired the founding of Make-A-Wish and drives everything they do. This past year Auburn Chi Omega raised $68,873.82, allowing us to grant 22 wishes!
It brings us so much joy that we are able to offer these kiddos the chance to make lasting memories with their families and forget about their illness for just a moment.
We really want our focus to be on what Make-A-Wish is all about. Make-A-Wish is about giving hope and excitement to kids with life-threatening illnesses and we want to make every one of our events centered on this excitement. We have so many ideas that we are in the process of planning and can't wait to share it with you. We would love y'all to join us as we begin to raise support, hope, and excitement for these kids. This is something we are both so passionate about and believe so fully in. Let's make 2018 the best yet!
CHI OMEGA AND THE MAKE A WISH FOUNDATION
The Make-A-Wish Foundation was founded in 1980 and grants wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience through hope, strength, and joy. Nationally, Chi Omega has donated over $13 million and granted more than 760 wishes since our partnership was established in 2002. So far, our chapter has donated $492,211 to the Make a Wish Foundation. Auburn Chi Omega has been the largest donor in the state of Alabama for a couple years now, in addition to being one of the top Chi Omega chapters in the nation concerning philanthropy donation and participation. We are humbled by the impact that Make-A-Wish has on so many families and feel blessed to serve and be a part of this wonderful organization!
